Sometimes the deepest healing doesn’t happen in a room.
It happens with bare feet on cool grass, the sound of birds overhead, the feel of a stream rushing past fingertips.
What is Creative Trails?

It’s just as it sounds: a journey through nature that combines talking, walking, creativity, and reflection.
Instead of sitting across from each other in a room, we meet in peaceful outdoor spaces where conversations can unfold more naturally, and pressure gently melts away.
For many young people, especially those who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or misunderstood it can be easier to talk while moving, listening to birdsong, or watching leaves dance in the breeze.

We might take off our shoes and feel the earth beneath us. Pause by a stream and listen to the water. Sit beneath a tree and try a visualisation — imagining a safe, calm place they can return to whenever needed. These small sensory moments create powerful openings for trust, insight, and self-expression.

Why The Outdoors?
Nature speaks to the nervous system in a way no room can.
It invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect — with ourselves and the world around us.

The feel of bark under fingertips. The crunch of leaves underfoot. A moment of stillness to name five things we can see, hear, feel, smell, or taste. These sensory grounding techniques can regulate emotions, bring calm, and help teens stay present.

Outdoor therapy isn’t just a change of setting. It opens the door to movement, creativity, and healing in an intuitive, embodied way.
What To Expect

Free Parent Consultation
We begin with a 30-minute phone or video call with you (the parent or carer) to explore your child’s needs and whether Creative Trails feels like the right fit.

Intro Session
Your young person has a relaxed online session with me to get to know each other and ease into the process before heading outdoors

Outdoor Sessions
Each session lasts 50 to 60 minutes and takes place in a safe, local green space. There’s no fixed agenda, just space for whatever’s needed on the day. That might be talking, being creative, grounding tools, or simply walking in quiet connection.
